Swim Lessons

Membership at the Diamond Spring Beach Club includes group swim lessons and being on the competitive swim team. Private swim lessons are available upon request. Lessons are also available for a fee to non-members. All lifeguards and swim instructors are American Red Cross certified and American Red Cross CPR certified.

Red Cross Certified Group Swim Instruction

Instructor

  • A currently authorized American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor who has met state qualifications where required.

Skill Level

  • The child’s skill level will be evaluated on the first day of class and placed in the appropriate level with other children for instruction.

Class Structure and Frequency

  • Group lessons will be given in one week intervals. Classes will begin at 9 am from Monday to Friday. A group lesson will be 40 minutes in length and have no more than a 10 to 1 ratio (swimmer /instructor). Multiple classes will be organized and start every 45 minutes starting at 9 am .
  • Diamond Spring Beach Club is planning on hosting 4 weeks of group swim lessons.
  • Week 1 – Monday, July 12 to Friday, July 16
  • Week 2 – Monday, July 19 to Friday, July 23
  • Week 3 – Monday, July 26 to Friday, July 30
  • Week 4 – Monday, August 2 to Friday, August 6
  • Times may vary depending on class size.

Sign-Up

  • Child must pre-register, (Members and Non-Members) one week in advance, in order to organize times, instructors and class sizes.
  • Complete registration form on website.
  • Non-members must pay in full by cash or check on first day of classes.

  • Non- Members – $60 Per Week

Learn – to – Swim

Level 1: Introduction to Water Skills
Helps participants feel comfortable in the water
Level 2: Fundamental Aquatic Skills
Gives participants success with fundamental skills
Level 3: Stroke Development
Builds on the skills of Level 2 through additional guided practice in deeper waters
Level 4: Stroke Improvement
Develops confidence in the skills learned and improves other aquatic skills
Level 5: Stroke Refinement
Provides further coordination and refinement of strokes
Level 6: Swimming and Skill Proficiency
Refines the strokes so participants swim them with ease, efficiency, power and smoothness over greater distances
Level 6: Personal Water Safety
Level 6: Fitness Swimmer
Level 6: Fundamentals of Diving

Red Cross Certification Cards will be issued to all who successfully complete the course/level.
